Cigarettes, used for satisfaction, used to stress out, or maybe just to look cool. We all know that smoking is bad to our health, it can cause different types of diseases.
I've heard about the 'Anti-Smoking Campaign' of our school, Asia Pacific College. In order to promote a healthy environment, and healthy living, the act absolutely bans smoking in public places, most specially in centers of youth activities, elevators and stair wells, fire-hazardous places, within the school.
The act also restricts access to sale of tobacco products to minors. tobacco may not be put in a vending machineunless it verifies age and may not be sold within 100 meters of a school. should tobacco be sold, there should be proper signage that indicates target costumer.
Before starting this blog, let me first introduce you on my first year in college experiences...
Its been almost 5 months since I started pursuing my college degree in Accountancy at Asia Pacific College. At first, I didn't like the ambiance of the school. I never thought of me going in to a plain school, I mean a school that not everyone knows, No School Uniform! Witch I really disliked a lot, having only the Jollibee, Select, Reyes BBQ, Max's and of course, the 'not so big' cafeteria for a place to eat and specially, clinic is the only place for you to chill or stress out a little. But lately, I realized that maybe I'm underestimating my school..
Last October 26-30, Out school held a program called "SoM Week" or "School of Management Week." An event that is made for the students of managements, but of course, anyone can participate whenever they want to. They held a different activities and different games.
Monday (Oct. 26) SoM Week Opening. 9:30 AM - 12:00 NN,almost all the SoM students gathered at the parking lot of the school to participate in the opening of the even. SoM studs had a parade. In the afternoon, the TM society held an event named "Halloween Movie Marathon" I joined it, but I didn't got a chance to finish the whole event because it's almost 6 PM in the evening, so I only watched 2 movies.
Tuesday (Oct. 27) They held a SoM fair, which I didn't had a chance to join because we watched the volleyball game at the gym.
Wednesday (Oct. 28) They held a different kinds of seminar, they also held a badminton game where in one of my blockmate had a chance to play.
Thursday (Oct. 29) SoM Night. A night where in all the SoM studs had a chance to meet each other. But I didn't had a chance to come because I don't have someone to accompany me.
Friday (Oct. 30) Sports Fest: Awarding and Mr. and Ms. SoM. Before that, the team AC and team BM lighted up the gym. They had their last basketball game. AC didn't had a chance to win the game, but it's alright, at least they made it to the finals. I'm still a proud AC student! And about Mr. and Ms. SoM? I didnt had a chance to watch it because again, I don't have someone to accompany me.
There are many and different events held for us, I only included some of them. I enjoyed the whole week.
Mysterious creatures fall down from the sky, they come to dominate the body of person for them to live in it; They are called Parasytes
Parasyte centers on a 17-year-old male named Shinichi Izumi, who lives with his mother and father in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. One night, worm-like creatures called Parasites appear on Earth, taking over the brains of human hosts by entering through their ears or noses. One Parasite attempts to crawl into Shinichi's ear while he sleeps, but fails as Shinichi is wearing headphones, and enters his body by burrowing into his arm instead.
Imagine you having a undefined creature in your body, most specifically in your hand. A creature that is more powerful than you. How your daily life would be? How can you deal with it?
The whole movie focused on how Sinitchi lived with a Parasyte in his hand. They both have different personalities but still handles to deal with each other. There are lots of parasytes that already manipulated the body of some people, one in the body of a female teacher, a male student and even on a police officer.
The movie made me wonder about the thought that maybe there are lots of undetermined and undiscovered species that is also leaving with us... I mean, the universe is so big, Scientist haven't studied all about it.
For me, the over view of the movie was great. It is interesting, you'll wonder how Sinitchi survived the fights between the both of them and the other parasytes who's known to be more powerful and strong compared to Migi. You'll learn something about sacrifices , team work, family and friendships.
One of our professor required us to watch a theater play entitled "Ang tatay mong kalbo." The title became catchy and I became curious about how the play goes and how it is connected to the tittle.
So the play started at 4 pm, I guess, and ended at 7:30 pm. The play was a bit confusing, there are some lines that I didn't understand and didn't totally got the meaning but the speaker reminded us that there are lots of hidden meaning in every sentence. Well, that's why I entitled this blog "Mind's Diversion" or should I say "Mind's Game". I enjoyed how the play started by Mr. and Mrs. Santos, They talked about random and nonsense things (well, it is for me because I didn't got the meaning of what they're actually talking about) the reason why I got mixed up; Its an entertaining play, though. I liked the way how the character delivered their lines, specially Mrs. Santos's voice. I enjoy how their maid, Maria, lit up the stage. I really find her entertaining.
"Kataka-taka" its funny how Mr. and Mrs Reyes (the visitor) keeps on repeating that word, they act like they only met on that day when in fact, they're actually couples. And how the two couple argued about the doorbell sound, The "Kapag may tumimbre, walang tao" thing; it made me laugh so hard. And finally, How Hepe entered the scene (I got a crush on Hepe! He's cute! :D) how they told nonsense and random stories of uncertain things. And it ended with Mr. and Mrs. Reyes doing exactly what Mr. and Mrs. Santos did on the first scene.
I enjoyed the play. Though they only had a small place to present with, but still they turned it into an amazing and wonderful play. I like how the lights are set upped, It gave more excitement on the play. For me, It's a very wonderful play, Nice job!
I'm not a fan of love story, I don't really enjoy watching romantic movie not unless I'll learn from it. But when I watched the movie Turn Left Turn Right, I got inspired and now I'm a big fan of it. Its not that "Kilig moments" kind of a movie, it has something to do with fate, right timing, coincidence, and about true love can wait.
I think the poem Love at first sight has something to do with the theme of the movie so I would like to present here the poem.
Love at First Sight
by Wislawa, Szymborska translated by Walter Whipple
Both are convinced
that a sudden surge of emotion bound them together.
Beautiful is such a certainty,
but uncertainty is more beautiful.
Because they didn't know each other earlier, they suppose that
nothing was happening between them.
What of the streets, stairways and corridors
where they could have passed each other long ago?
I'd like to ask them
whether they remember-- perhaps in a revolving door
ever being face to face?
an "excuse me" in a crowd
or a voice "wrong number" in the receiver.
But I know their answer:
no, they don't remember.
They'd be greatly astonished
to learn that for a long time
chance had been playing with them.
Not yet wholly ready
to transform into fate for them
it approached them, then backed off,
stood in their way
and, suppressing a giggle,
jumped to the side.
There were signs, signals:
but what of it if they were illegible.
Perhaps three years ago,
or last Tuesday
did a certain leaflet fly
from shoulder to shoulder?
There was something lost and picked up.
Who knows but what it was a ball
in the bushes of childhood.
There were doorknobs and bells
on which earlier
touch piled on touch.
Bags beside each other in the luggage room.
Perhaps they had the same dream on a certain night,
suddenly erased after waking.
Every beginning
is but a continuation,
and the book of event
is never more than half open.
A boy with a violin and a girl who loves poem. They accidentally meet at the park fountain, when he helps her pick up her papers that have fallen into the fountain, and after that day happened, their lives changed for good. They didn't have a chance to know each other's name, they only know their students numbers.Till that one awaited day came, One day, while walking around a circular fountain in the park, they finally bump into each other. Just like a pair of long-lost lovers, they spend a beautiful afternoon together. A sudden shower cuts the encounter short. They exchange phone numbers and quickly run home. Yet fate plays a cruel joke on them, the rain has soaked through their precious scrap of paper and the phone numbers are hopelessly smudged. But like what they always say, "If it is meant to be will be". In the end, things became perfect.
(My prof keeps on speaking in I think French, that's why this blog is entitled using French language. lol)
"I only have to close my eyes and I'm back to the moment that I wished it never last
I only have to close my eyes and again, I can smell your unfading scent
I only have to close my eyes to feel your embrace and your undying love
I only have to close my eyes and automatically my lips will flash a smile"
Months.. days.. time had passed me by so fast. But the memories of you on my mind are still fresh, fresh like a newly caught fish from the ocean. I can still recall how you sweetly whispered my name including the most sweetest words I've ever heard- "I love you", while smiling right next to me. I can still remember how we happily dreamed of the both of us growing old together, us living in a one roof, having a luxury life, I can still imagine how you smiled at me when we first ever met. Memories from the past keeps on visiting me, it never fails to make my eyes wet, it never fails to make me a bit sad.
We started like a canvas, simple and plain. We painted it with joy and happiness every single day. Whenever we're facing problems, we're thankful. Because for us it means improvement. We faced them all with courage and hope, hoping to learn from each and everyone of it. Every single day we're leaning from each other, a knowledge that cant be thought in school. We learned from each other's experiences, we know each other's weakness and helped each other to overcome it, we noticed each other's flaws, but never use it to underestimate each other. We accepted the fact that no one's perfect, and used it to be imperfectly perfect.
We mostly fight over simple things, like what path to take. We're having an argument on such little things, like who to get jealous with and not. We like to discuss about uncertain things, like how the day gone for us. We had fights that almost broke us into pieces. But in the end of the day, it's still each other whom we're thankful to have. Like a poem, we rhyme. Like a song, we have rhythm; Different perspectives tied up by same feelings.
You're the one who thought me to believe on myself by also believing on what I can do. You told me that life is not about waiting for the storm so pass, but its about learning to dance under it and enjoy every drop of it, that life is a training ground, where in we have to be tough and prepared on every obstacles that we're about to face. You're one of the person I adore a lot. You have that strong personality that everyone wishes to have; the sense of humor that never fails anyone to set into laughter, your faith that can lead you to a better perspectives in life, your caring and loving side to your parents, siblings and even on your friends.
"You're a treasure that I wish I never found, An opportunity that I should have missed, a memory that I wished I never owned, because you're something that can't be mine"
We're once happy about everything, even the little ones. Once contented about everything we've got. We call ourselves blessed for having each other, but now we're regretting things and wishing we should've not meet each other. Why do it have to be so much painful? It even came to the point where in too much pain almost killed me, almost killed us, the pain did even changed us. You always told me to pretend that everything was just a dream, if it was, I surely wont woke up ever again. Heaven it was before, I never thought that heaven will send me to hell.
Now, we're back on being strangers again.
"One in a lifetime, you'll find someone
Someone that can make you smile, and also make you cry
Someone that will fill your empty sorrow;
Someone that you're willing to live the rest of your life with
But we're not in a wish granting factory,
Sometimes, life is a mess and a bit crock
And we also know that nothing last and everything change;
Life don't always go according to your plan But you know that is the saddest part? That, that person cant stay forever yours That someone cant stay forever by your side, and that someone can only live in your memories, not in your life
But whatever happens, life goes on
you can take that someone as a blessing or a lesson
But you're still lucky to be given an opportunity
Opportunity to make yourself a better person"
"Soon I'll forget the color of your eyes, and you'll forget mine"
I still thank you for everything. I'm still thankful because I had a chance to meet you, for having a chance to have a lesson learned. I'm still praying that one day our paths will cross again. And when that day finally came, I wont let you go through your own life alone, ever again.
Does everyone knows who General Luna is? What does he done in order for us, Filipinos, to achieve our freedom?
Let me share a brief info of him..General Antonio Luna was known as the greatest general of the revolution. He was born in Binondo manila, on October 1966. He was one of the propagandists in Spain who were working for political reforms in the Philippines. He was assign in Cabanatuan City way back 1899.
I'd watched the movie Heneral Luna, From that day, I adore his fighting skills, He was a fighter.
Who among my readers haven't watch the movie Heneral Luna? I think you must.. Heneral Luna, for me, is one of the most interesting movie I've ever watched. I enjoyed watching it because it tackles something from the past.
It explains how General Luna, together with his co-soldiers fought for our freedom. General Luna was chosen to be the head general of the armed forces, some other generals didn't wanted how he managed the given task to him that's why revelation between him and other general and cabinet members started. He was brutally killed because of that. I enjoyed watching the movie, thanks for my prof who endorsed me to this movie.
